Hayden Calnin

Hayden Calnin bottles light in his music like butterflies in a jar. Fluttering melodies float through a haze of analog synths, organic percussion, lush keys, and naturally-sourced samples of everything from birds chirping to flames cackling. The Australian singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist stitches these elements together in an evocative, ethereal, and emotional tapestry of texture and tone. He illuminates this vision on recent 2024 EP, All Kinds of Light. “This whole body of work distills the way light affected me and inspired the record,” he says. “There’s an important mystery to light, but that’s the beauty of the whole thing.”He has continually chased, captured, and harnessed this beauty in his artistry. Hayden honed his inimitable sound across Cut Love, Pt. 1-2 [2016], A Life You Would Choose EP [2019], What It Means To Be Human [2021], and A Turning of the Tide: Side A & B [2023]. He amassed tens of millions of streams and incited the applause of American Songwriter, Atwood Magazine, Beat Magazine, The Guardian, and many more. Meanwhile, he played shows with Tom Odell and The Antlers. Simultaneously, he landed a series of high-profile film and television syncs, ranging from Suits, The Good Doctor, The Vampire Diaries, and So You Think You Can Dance US to the UK trailer for the Academy® Award-nominated Room. Along the way, he also produced for the likes of Didirri, Harrison Storm, Riley Pearce, Woodlock, and NYCK. Not to mention, he co-wrote “Falling Up” for Dean Lewis, scoring an international hit.
