Arkansas/Chicago Artist Wic Whitney Shares New Single “Oolong” From Upcoming EP; Signs to Nettwerk

Nettwerk is thrilled announce the signing of Wic Whitney to its label roster. The Arkansas-bred, Chicago-based creative melds southern soul and smooth rhythm into quick-witted and introspective storytelling that invites his fans to be present in every moment. Today, he shares the aptly titled new single “Oolong” from his upcoming EP Afternoon Tea, out January 12. Listen to “Oolong” HERE.
On Afternoon Tea, Wic explores the different types of love and relationships that humans encounter within themselves, each other, and the world around them. He shares, “The EP title is symbolic of taking everything one cup at a time. Every cup is different, but just as enjoyable.”
“Oolong” is a laidback take on how to thrive in a constant stage of existential dread, while the previously released “Matcha” is an effervescent reflection on Wic’s first gay relationship, full of excitement and heartbreak – beautifully complicated but never tragic.

Chicagoans can catch Wic along with Ajani Jones, Kweku Collins, and DJ Mochi at Lincoln Hall on Thursday, November 9th for an evening presented by Audiotree. Tickets are HERE.
