Angus & Julia Stone Share New Video/Song “Chateau”; Tour Dates Added

August 24, 2017 BY Nettwerk

Aussie sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone have unveiled a new song and beautiful new video to accompany it.  “Chateau” is the second single from the pair’s upcoming album Snow, out September 15.  The video premiered yesterday via Billboard.

Directed by Jessie Hill and set in the magical surrounds of Mexico City, the video for “Chateau” follows two young rebels (Australian actors Courtney Eaton of Mad Max Fury Road and Dacre Montgomery, the new lead in the upcoming season of Stranger Things) on a surreal and colorful adventure, stealing Angus and Julia’s car, crashing a decadent wedding gathering and leading guests to an underground disco.  The couple falls madly in love in the process, against the stunning backdrop and hypnotic vibes of  “Chateau.”

To celebrate the release of Snow, Angus & Julia announced an international headline tour that takes them through North America starting on November 13th in Boston, MA, with shows in BrooklynSan Francisco and Montreal already sold-out and other dates on track to sell out shortly. In light of this, three additional dates have been announced in New York, NY (Nov 18), Berkeley, CA (Dec 2) and Santa Ana, CA (Dec 7). Their international tour also includes a completely sold-out run of their native Australia and their largest European/U.K. tour to date, as well as a good number of festivals. Visit angusandjuliastone.com for all dates.

Snow is yet another confidant advance on a story which now accounts for over half a million album sales in Australia alone. The Sydney-born siblings produced and largely engineered it themselves, in Angus’s cottage studio, Belafonté, in the Byron Bay hinterland.

“It was quite magical because Angus and I have never spent that much time together, just the two of us,” says Julia. “There’s always at least an engineer or tour manager but the last phase of writing and recording was just eight weeks of him and me and the quiet of the land. It was a beautiful time.”

Since the duo began performing together in 2006, their story has unfolded with an almost magical magnetism that has galvanised the world. Their albums have amassed multi-platinum sales and numerous ARIA and APRA awards at home, and won a fanbase of millions over spiralling tours of the UK, Europe and North America. The band have each month over 5 million listeners who tune in, to stream their music from all over the world.  Lead single “Snow” already has over 1.2 million streams on Spotify alone.

Their quietly hypnotic songs have infiltrated film and TV from the recent Woody Harrelson film ‘The Edge of 17’ to TV shows like ‘Pretty Little Liars’, ‘Suits’ & ‘Revenge’. They have cast their spell over the world’s key festivals: Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Rock Werchter, Hurricane, Austin City Limits, Electric Picnic, Splendour In The Grass.
