After releasing her tender duet single “The Change In Me” with fellow Dutch musician Lywe last month, rising cinematic pop artist Nina June has shared her latest single, the dreamy and gorgeous “Summersnow.” “It’s a song about learning to love again with a bruised heart,” Nina says about the song. “It’s about daring to see the future with someone new and to dive in without restrains.”

“Summersnow” will be included in Nina’s upcoming new EP, more details to come very soon.

The Amsterdam-based songstress creates captivating cinematic songs that tell tales of the complex forms of human connections. With her sultry alto voice, she elegantly combines electronic sound design with acoustic elements. With its own distinctive sound that she describes as “melancholic nostalgia,” her music parallels that of artists like Ane Brun, The Paper Kites, and Air.

Nina released her debut album Bon Voyage to critical acclaim back in 2018. Mainly self-produced by Nina and her musical companion Lieuwe Roonder, Electronic North called it a “unique and poignant sound” and BlackBook’s proclaimed it as “impassioned and heartfelt.” For her debut, she was inspired by the cinematic compositions of Thomas Newman (American Beauty) and Michael Nyman (The Piano), as well as the ethereal pop of Rhye.

Many people all over the world discovered Nina’s music through streaming services and several international films and TV-series. This led to playing in New York, receiving the Zilveren Notekraker in Amsterdam (a national prize for most promising new talent), singing with Thomas Dybdahl on stage and supporting Alex Vargas.

Nina recently supported SYML on 5 European dates and will be planning more live shows throughout 2019.
