Alternative Rock Quartet Grizfolk Touch on Escapism With Cinematic “Medicine Man”

November 3, 2023 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

Today, alternative rock quartet Grizfolk, comprising of Adam Roth [lead vocals, guitar], Sebastian Fritze [keys, backing vocals], Fredrik Eriksson [guitar], and Billy Delia [drums], return with the cinematic “Medicine Man.” Touching on escapism and the human desire to change the way we feel, “Medicine Man” is set against a warbling bass groove, combined with a chantable chorus, accented by powerful airy loops, and the fun auditory brilliance of their natural sound. It is available on all digital and streaming platforms here.

Adam of Grizfolk shares, “One line stuck out, ‘I’m a prisoner here, in paradise….A lot of us feel that way sometimes. You’re happy on the outside, but you’re struggling inside. You’re searching for anything to change this uncomfortable feeling.

Grizfolk lean into an uncompromising creative spirit just as closely as they lean on the brotherhood between them. Born in Venice, CA during 2012, the collective has evolved over the course of albums such as 2015’s Waking Up The Giants, 2019’s Rarest of Birds, and the self-titled 2021 release Grizfolk. They’ve toured with the likes of BastilleTwenty One Pilots, and Andrew McMahon, racked up hundreds of millions of streams, and earned praise from outlets like BillboardAmerican SongwriterSubstreamAtwoodFLOOD and more. Their unpredictable and undeniable signature style co-mingles elements of alternative, indie, rock, country, and electronic tied together with evocative and rich songcraft.

Stay tuned for more news and music from Grizfolk on the band’s forthcoming EP.
