ALISON’S HALO RELEASE NEW EP SKYWIDE + CO-HEADLINE U.S. TOUR WITH TANUKICHAN STARTS NOVEMBER 4TH
November 11, 2025 BY Bailey Vigliaturo
Today, Arizona’s legendary shoegaze band Alison’s Halo has released their new EP Skywide, out now via their new label home Nettwerk. Unearthed from a long-lost 1996 rehearsal session, the recordings capture the band in their unrefined and luminous form. Skywide includes a blistering early version of the band’s beloved debut single “Dozen,” along with four newly finished songs that blend shimmering guitars, haunting vocals, and the dreamy textures that have made Alison’s Halo a cult favorite. Formed in Tempe, Arizona, during the fall of 1992, Alison’s Halo is Catherine Cooper (Vocals/Guitar), Adam Cooper (Guitar), David Rogers (Bass/vocals), and Roger Brogan (Drums/Percussion).
Lead guitarist Adam Cooper explains, “It was incredible to revisit these recordings decades later and breathe new life into them. The new melodies and lyrics bridge nearly 30 years of our history.”
“There is a tendency these days to re-record, re-work, and refine parts and performances, or replace less desirable sonics with samples, and this batch of songs always seemed to push back hard any time we tried to polish or get too precious with them,” says vocalist and guitarist,Catherine Cooper. “They basically wanted to be left alone, and we learned very quickly to just get out of their way and let them shine!”
While digging through archives for an expanded Eyedazzler (1998) reissue, the band discovered an unlabeled cassette of rough sketches and live takes recorded on a Portastudio. As raw as these songs were, there was an undeniable energy across the five tracks: navigating the weight and tension of a slow-burning love with “Dozen ‘96” and “So Far Away”, the beauty of fleeting moments that linger long after they’ve passed on “Tangled Up Inside”, and the joy found in meaningful connection with “Happy.” The title track, “Skywide,” soars with cathartic power, delving into the ache of grief and the quiet grace of acceptance that follows.
“We are incredibly proud of these five songs,” Catherine says. “In a strange but satisfying way, we are closing the chapter on the ‘Eyedazzler’ era of the group in terms of recorded material, but the recently written lyrics and new melodies give a small glimpse as to what’s next for us,” Catherine muses.
