Alice Phoebe Lou Shares her  gorgeous new single “Darling”

October 1, 2025 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

Free flowing and harmonic, Darling is here to warm you up ahead of the new album with its golden tones and layered, luxurious vocals. Darling captures the blissful, early moments of love, bottling that dreamy period of wonder and intoxication. Sharing more, Alice explained: ‘Darling is the most typical love song you’ll find on the album, written with hearts in my eyes, full of optimism about life and the future. It’s a somewhat delusional place that we can be in for a moment, where we think that everything will just work out and love will prevail. It’s like floating between two storms, momentarily forgetting all the hardships and difficulties and just focusing on how sweet and warm it can feel to be in love.’

Alice’s pending 6th album ‘Oblivion’ is set to take shape as a deeply personal collection that delves into her journey of exploration both globally and internally. Over her last five LPs, Alice has established herself as a musical force, consistently unveiling new facets to her expressive vocals and beguiling songwriting. Oblivion is grounding, and the result of an artist led by their artistry. The eleven track album pays homage to her earlier sound, whilst delving deeper than ever before.  Sharing more, Alice said: “In this industry there’s an emphasis on needing to go bigger, to one-up yourself, but instead I returned to my roots of playing on the street. These songs come from deep inside my subconscious, dreams, the oblivion of sleep, the place where you can access your deepest thoughts, desires, memories, and true feelings without thinking about the way it’ll be received.”

Oblivion will be her first album since therelease of Shelter back in 2023. These songs are Alice’s first-ever self-produced releases, the stripped back nature throws back to the busking simplicity of her early career, yet the songwriting shows the maturity and directness of a woman reaching a new radiance. Alice shares, “After five band records, I’ve opened my treasure chest of personal storytelling songs that I’ve built up over a decade. Songs that didn’t make it into other albums, some songs I never thought would see the light of day. I embarked on the brave and thrilling journey of recording these songs as they are, with love and playfulness, simple and all my own. Leaning into imperfection and taking inspiration from some of my biggest influences who have made timeless folk acoustic albums.”

Back in July Alice released ‘Pretender; a stripped back affair that allowed her storytelling and honeyed vocals to take the forefront. It celebrated the moment she found strength in her softness as she commended herself on never compromising on who she is, even when it would be easier to be someone else. Her authenticity is something that her fans have championed in her writing all along, but this latest chapter marks the moment where she can feel it in her own heart.

So far from the upcoming album, Alice has also released  “You and I,” “The Surface”, “Old Shadows’ and most recently ‘Pretender’. Along the way she has scooped support from Clash Magazine who described it as ‘Opaque soul that glistens with inner strength’ whilst Metal Magazine unknowingly touched on the album title when they said ‘rescued from oblivion, the song is reborn as a fundamental and biographical piece in the artist’s career’.

In the Spring, Alice played 3 sold-out nights at The Lodge Room in Los Angeles before joining Remi Wolf at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Now with her European tour wrapped up after playing magical sold-out shows across the continent including London’s iconic Roundhouse, she is getting ready to come back to North America for a run of shows with her other musical endeavor strongboi, in support of Men I Trust. In 2024, Lou toured alongside Clairoon the strikingly intimate Charm Tour with headline shows of her own mixed in. See all upcoming dates here.
