KACY HILLANNOUNCES ‘BUT ANYWAY, NO WORRIES!’ EP OUT AUGUST 27 VIA NETTWERK
July 28, 2025 BY Bailey Vigliaturo
Acclaimed Phoenix-born, LA-based singer-songwriter Kacy Hill has announced her forthcoming EP, But Anyway, No Worries!, out August 27 via Nettwerk. Accompanying the announcement is the new single “The Garden,” co-written with Tofer Brown (Jon Pardi, Lady Antebellum) and produced by Tommy King (HAIM, RAYE) and Paul Cartwright (Chappell Roan, Olivia Rodrigo).
“The Garden” is an emotionally-charged meditation on heartbreak, memory, and renewal. The track weaves Hill’s crystalline vocals through a lush, organic arrangement of fingerpicked guitar, melancholic strings, and subtle atmospheric textures. Lyrically, “The Garden” explores the visceral aftermath of a breakup, using the imagery of a once-tended backyard garden now left behind as a symbol of love lost and the lingering ache of absence. Hill’s delivery is soft yet aching, rooted in restraint, evoking both quiet devastation and the slow process of emotional regrowth.
Sharing the origin of the song, Hill explains, “‘The Garden’ was written in my darkest days after a breakup, after I had moved all my belongings into storage and was living in my friend’s guest house. LA had been getting downpours of rain, and one thing I missed the most was my garden. I felt anger that the fruits and vegetables that had brought me so much joy, that I had lovingly tended to and harvested and sat with, were still in what was now his backyard, growing without me.”
But Anyway, No Worries! signals a striking evolution for Hill—melding her ethereal pop sensibilities with deeply rooted folk and Americana influences. It is an invitation into the most intimate corners of her creative soul. With echoes of Americana and country influences, the But Anyway, No Worries! EP indicates a new chapter in Hill’s artistry—one grounded more deeply in melody, storytelling, and vulnerability than ever before.
Reflecting on the full EP, Hill shares, “This project was written in LA and Nashville and in so many ways, feels like the project I’ve been trying to make for years. I’ve had so much to say and work through over the past year and felt like the best way to say it was to just write songs. Every project I’ve made before has started with production ideas, and I build songs around little production loops or ideas, but this was entirely about the words and melody. I want to make something timeless that feels deeply from me and pulls from my biggest inspirations in country and folk music.”
“The Garden” follows Hill’s two previous 2025 singles, “Please Don’t Cry” and “When in Rome.” Co-written by Kacy Hill, Campbell Burns (of Vacations), and John Velasquez (Zella Day, Gatlin), and co-produced by Tommy King and Hill herself, “Please Don’t Cry” exemplifies her distinctive approach to the folk and Americana landscape. With its blend of warm, earthy tones and modern sonic textures alongside Hill’s clear, expressive voice, the single continues her exploration of storytelling through an updated lens. “When in Rome,” co-written with John Vincent III, delves into the vulnerable “hoping stage” of a breakup, reflecting on the lingering desire to rewrite an ending and avoid the finality of loss. These new songs have been praised by the likes of NPR, The FADER, Pitchfork, FLOOD, Hypebeast, Ones To Watch, and more.
In September, Kacy Hill will be performing at AMERICANAFEST in Nashville. But Anyway, No Worries! is out everywhere on August 27. For more information and updates on Kacy Hill, visit https://www.kacyhill.com.
