Indie-folk Singer/Songwriter Harrison Storm Announces New Album ‘Empty Garden’ Out Oct. 3rd

July 4, 2025 BY Emma Orland

Australian indie-folk singer-songwriter Harrison Storm announces his captivating new album Empty Garden, out October 3rd via Nettwerk. The patchwork of 10 songs collected over the last 2 years is a product of seeking help internally and externally to process heartache, which is depicted in his latest single “Someone Else” featuring Winona Oak. Written with friend and collaborator Brittony May, Harrison adds about the collaboration, “There is a particular kind of ache that comes from watching a friend go through a break up. Sometimes it can feel like you’re on the sidelines, watching it all unfold at arms length, able to offer support but unable to stop what’s happening. You become a resting place for them at times, available and present while they navigate the emotional turbulence.  All you can really do is become an anchor point of warmth and wait for them as the dust begins to settle.”

“Someone Else” follows previous releases, “Temporary Friend,” “Follow On,” and Find A Way,” all off Empty Garden. Follow Harrison Storm on socials for more details off the forthcoming album.

Harrison discovered music’s therapeutic powers at an early age. Growing up in a culture of toxic masculinity, he would listen to artists like City and Colour, Angus Stone, and Jeff Buckley and feel less isolated. Those musicians inspired Harrison to pursue his own music career, and in 2015 he took to the streets in Melbourne to busk, where he made enough money to finance his debut EP Sense of Home. A record deal with Nettwerk soon followed, and over the course of the next seven years, Harrison released four EPs: gold certified Change It All (2017), Falling Down (2019), gold certified Be Slow (2020), and Under Dusk (2022) – the latter a collaboration with Enna Blake. Harrison’s songs have since racked up over 500 million streams, with radio plays on Australia’s triple j and the UK’s BBC Radio 2. The song “Sense of Home” was certified Gold in Canada in 2020. Now, with Empty Garden on the way, Harrison is opening up more than ever.
