DANCE-POP TRIO CAPYAC SHARE THE FUNKY FEEL-GOOD SONG “KEEP ME CLOSE, PT. II”

Last month, the LA-via-Austin queer dance-electronic trio CAPYAC delivered an early summer jam with the body positivity anthem Sexy in my Bodyyy.” Now they’re back with a smooth poolside groove “Keep Me Close, Pt II.” With a mesmerizing vocal loop, baby-making rhythms, and a fresh bass line, CAPYAC infuses some G-Funk-inspired energy into their feel-good sound!

Eric, Delwin, and Obie elaborate on the song’s origins: “It started as a jam during our last tour. It had a ballad part and then kinda went into this groove. We kept messing with it and idk, it just wasn’t coming. Around that time, we played a show at a now-defunct DIY venue called Loophole in Berlin. After the gig, our percussionist for the show sent us this really lovely voicemail, and we put it in the song, and bam, it started to fall in place”.

After the release of Songs From Celestial City, (their highly acclaimed collaborative EP with musician-comedian Reggie Watts) and touring across North America with Rubblebucket, CAPYAC are feeling and sounding as inspired as ever. “Keep Me Close, Pt II” follows the summer standout “Sexy in my Bodyyy” and disco banger “U Know Y,” signalling more music on the way.
