Alt-pop Trio Coyote Theory Is In The Process of Rediscovery On Debut Album ‘Still’

March 14, 2025 BY Emma Orland

Platinum-certified alt-pop trio Coyote Theory are thrilled to release their debut album Still via Nettwerk. The album reflects on all of the interpretations of why they are still making music. Listen HERE.

“We are still writing music, still putting up with each other, still learning and growing, being still in this moment, surprising people that we’re still around. We liked how the one theme of ‘Still’ can encompass how all these songs in the collection come from different head spaces and times to create a holistic view of us still figuring everything out together,” states Coyote Theory.

Hailing from Orlando, FL, Coyote Theory—Colby Carpinelli [lead vocals, piano], Jayson Lynn [drums, percussion], and Grayson Hendren [bass, guitar, vocals]—lean on their longtime union for strength and inspiration, anchoring an ever-evolving hybrid of alternative, indie, and pop punctuated by just the right amount of jazz.  They unlocked chemistry during marathon jam sessions as kids, and 2011 saw the group unveil their debut Color EP, produced by James Paul Wisner (Paramore, Dashboard Confessional, Gatsby’s American Dream). After three years of chasing music, the members agreed to pause the band, yet their friendship flourished. By 2019, Colby, Jayson, and Grayson collectively experienced an itch to write and record again, and conversations commenced. Though the pandemic slowed the initial plan, the Color standout “This Side of Paradise” organically exploded on TikTok fueled by posts from the likes of mega-influencer and platinum star Bella Poarch. Following a re-release of the initial EP, “This Side of Paradise” surged, generating over 600 million streams globally and over 2 billion uses on TikTok, knocking Cardi B’s W.A.P. off the Spotify Global Viral Charts and reaching platinum status. Throughout 2022, they parlayed this momentum into the Late Night EP and Live From the Babcock EP. Tallying over 1 billion streams and garnering an audience from a new generation, the group is continuing to put out catchy music fans can relate to with Still.
