Tom Speight’s new EP Covers is out today

Today, London-based melodic storyteller Tom Speight is back with a brand-new EP titled Covers, listen in full HERE and below.
Featuring four tracks originally by Outkast, Hollow Coves, Kodaline, and Fleetwood Mac, Covers is an homage to the songs that have shaped Tom Speight as an artist and music fan – a tribute to the diversity of music which we all love.

A cover of Hollow Coves fan favourite ‘Coastline‘ opens this EP, capturing all the wanderlust of the original. With finger-picked acoustic guitar and the dual vocals between Speight and The Mayries, it’s a beautiful song for all seasons as Speight brings a softness to the proceedings. “I’ve been a big fan of Hollow Coves for a long time. Collaborating with The Mayries we aimed to capture its beautiful harmonies while creating a dreamy, ethereal version that listeners can truly drift away to.”
Next up is a version of Outkast’s iconic smash hit ‘Hey Ya!‘, as Speight translates the irresistible energy of the original into the perfect indie alt-folk anthem with shades of Sufjan Stevens, this shimmering duet is wistful and dream-like. Whilst ‘Everywhere‘ tackles Fleetwood Mac’s timeless original, rediscovering its delicacy and honesty. “I wanted to capture that magic in a fresh, acoustic duet. Imagine a laid-back, beachy vibe that brings out the song’s warmth and nostalgia in a new, stripped-back way,” Speight explained.
Ending the EP is ‘All I Want‘, featuring his long-time collaborator Lydia Clowes (who has lent her vocals to Fred Again and Paris Paloma). Having shared stages with Kodaline, Speight brings a personal touch to this recording – minimalist and evocative, a heartrending love song for the romantics.
