Northern Irish musician Ciaran Lavery shares video for new track “Oh My God (No, Your God) – Feat. Morgana”
June 14, 2024 BY Emma Orland
Award-winning Northern Irish singer-songwriter and musician Ciaran Lavery will release a brand new single titled “Oh My God (No, Your God)” featuring Morgana.
In a quagmire of muttering bass and eerie choral harmonies (featuring the ethereal tones of Belfast-born singer Morgana), on “Oh My God (No, Your God)” Lavery explores how, in Northern Ireland, the beliefs you inherit from your elders often leads to blinkered judgement. How the mere uttering of a family name can prompt the slamming of doors. How children are abused under the guise of “discipline”.
Lavery explains: “The song deals with the very unique and divided history in Northern Ireland, and how it is to be raised in a society where such things as inherited beliefs and family names have a lasting effect on which paths are open to you in your life.”
Out tomorrow (14th June), you can watch the music video to “Oh My God (No, Your God)” ahead of the release here and below now.
