Magnetic energy surges through the music of IAMTHELIVING. The London-born and Vancouver-based singer, songwriter, producer, and performer, aka Rian Peters, infuses alternative R&B with charisma, emotion, soul, and spirit in equal measure. Today, he announces his debut album Nebra Sky and unveils new single “The Weekend” featuring Emmy Award-winning artist Braxton Cook.

Leading the charge is the infectious single “The Weekend,” a celebration of life and joy. “The Weekend” tempers a propulsive beat with funkified guitar and elated vocals, charging up a danceable and celebratory refrain meant to be sung aloud either on the way to the best night of your life, at last call, or as the sun comes up.

Braxton Cook, the acclaimed Emmy Award-winning artist, and NAACP Image Award nominee joins IAMTHELIVING on “The Weekend,” adding his signature style to the track. Braxton is known for his world-class virtuosity on the alto saxophone, unique vocal talent, and innovative blend of jazz, soul, and alt-R&B.

“It’s one of my favorite songs,” says IAMTHELIVING. “Everyone always looks forward to Friday. It doesn’t matter what industry you work in. It’s just a happy and uplifting song about the weekend. Let’s go out and enjoy life!”

Part 1 drew listeners into his world. Tracks such as the opener “Can’t Be Replaced,” the string-boosted “Calloused Heart,” the rabble-rousing “Rockin’ City London,” and tender “Make It Home Alive” with Jake Isaac assembled a multi-faceted mosaic of his artistry, encompassing cinematic soundscapes, skyscraping choruses, and buoyant bass-driven grooves.

Nebra Sky all comes from my mind and creativity. This is the music inside of me. It comes from my spirit and my soul. It’s a reintroduction,” says IAMTHELIVING.

His journey continues in earnest with Nebra Sky, the album.

IAMTHELIVING’s rise to prominence shines through accolades and achievements, such as receiving a 2021 JUNO Award nomination for “Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year” and earning multiple nods for “R&B Artist of the Year” at the Western Canadian Music Awards. His collaboration with Teon Gibbs on the JNGL EP and his recent UK/EU tour with BANNERS further solidify his position as a rising star in the music industry.
