Indie-Folk Singer-Songwriter Harrison Storm Unveils Debut Album Wonder, Won’t You?; Announces Global Tour Dates

Connection has always remained at the heart of everything indie-folk singer-songwriter Harrison Storm has created, and on his debut album Wonder, Won’t You? – released today via Nettwerk – he is offering listeners an invitation to join him on a wondrous journey of unbridled introspection into the deepest crevices of his own heart and mind.

Produced alongside ARIA Music Award nominee Dustin Tebbutt in his cosy studio out the back of a coffee roastery in Melbourne, Harrison’s vision comes to life through ten songs aching with raw emotion. Intimate and unabridged, these songs helped him work through his own struggles, and now he hopes they help others do the same. You can listen to Wonder, Won’t You? here.

“For me, music is a lot about self-discovery and honesty,” Harrison says. “My stories have a lot to do with connection and connecting with myself, but also really trying to connect with the world. Growing up, I could never really find my place or fit in. When I write a song, it helps me realise that all these emotions and learnings are just part of the human experience, and that it’s okay to have those heavy and introspective thoughts.

“This collection of songs feels like it sums up the past few years for me as best I could. There’s a sprinkle of everything I’ve been through. Falling in love, facing and getting through mental health issues and ultimately striving to connect more with myself and the world. It’s been really healing to sit with these songs before I’ve shared them to the world as well, but I can’t wait for people to discover something through this album.”

Woven throughout Wonder, Won’t You?, you’ll find Harrison exploring feelings of love and loneliness, of new discoveries and loss, and all the tensions and emotions that come with life. Opening track “Warm a Cold Heart” sets the tone as Harrison sings about being kinder to yourself and believing in the good parts of who you are, before diving headfirst into the chase and pull of desire on “This Love”, spilling his heart in an achingly tender expression of adoration and belonging on “My Way Home”, and extending an outstretched hand for a friend in need on “Daylight Sun”.

On “Tomorrow” we find Harrison as he reckons with the often-overwhelming chaos of life while finding safety and clarity in the comfort of a loved one, while “In Good Time,” is his nostalgic sepia-toned daydream about forgiving the past and running into the future.

Since releasing his breakthrough EP Sense Of Home in 2016 – financed by the years he spent busking on the streets of Melbourne – Harrison has garnered hundreds of millions of streams, taking his music to stages and fans around the world. Following five EPs – Sense of Home (2016), Change It All (2017), Falling Down (2019), Be Slow (2020), and Under Dusk (2022), the latter a collaboration with Enna Blake – his debut album Wonder, Won’t You? sees Harrison at his most vulnerable, his most sensitive, and his most human. 

“Before I’m an artist, I’m a human being,” Harrison says. “When I feel stagnant with my wellbeing, I get to a point where something’s got to give. I find a lot of comfort knowing that I can pick up a guitar and release what I need to release. It feels spiritual in a way. Music is therapeutic in the sense that, if I’m really struggling with a particular emotion and I can’t seem to shake it, putting it into a song helps.”

Following the release of Wonder, Won’t You?, Harrison will embark on a run of capital city headline shows, taking to stages in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth throughout February and March. These tour dates follow Harrison’s regional Australian tour in July and August, and his recent run of EU/UK headline shows and support dates with Roo Panes.

Storm discovered music’s therapeutic powers at an early age. Growing up in a culture of toxic masculinity, he would listen to artists like City and Colour, Angus Stone, and Jeff Buckley and feel a little less alone. Those musicians inspired Storm to pursue his own music career, and in 2015 he’d made enough money to finance his debut EP Sense of Home. A record deal with Nettwerk soon followed, and over the course of the next seven years, Storm released four EPs: Change It All (2017), Falling Down (2019), Be Slow (2020), and Under Dusk (2022) – the latter a collaboration with Enna Blake.  

Music has already taken Storm around the world, touring throughout Australia, Europe, and North America alongside artists like Gregory Alan Isakov, Tash Sultana, Snow Patrol, and The Head and the Heart.  

Storm’s songs have since racked up hundreds of millions of streams, with radio plays on Australia’s triple j and the UK’s BBC Radio 2. The song “Sense of Home” was certified Gold in Canada in 2020.
