Together Pangea Releases Acoustic Re-Imagining of Fan Favorite “Night of the Living Dummy”
April 6, 2023 BY Bailey Vigliaturo
LA-based garage punk trio Together Pangea are revisiting past songs and giving them an acoustic spin, starting with “Night of the Living Dummy,” a long-time band and fan favorite and one of the old songs in the bands catalog, going back to 2011. The song will be featured on Together Pangea’s upcoming EP called Pt. 2, out June 26th, along with three other tracks from their latest full-length album DYE: “Marijuana,” “Nothing To Hide,” and “How The Story Ends” (titled “Nervous” on DYE). The song is available on all digital retailers tomorrow, April 7th, HERE.
“Pt. 2 was recorded in a makeshift studio that I built with my brother in my backyard in Los Angeles,” William Keegan says. “I think that these songs sound a lot like the demos that I’ve been doing for Pangea songs since the beginning. I’ve always liked the way that the demos sound and wanted to release something with the same feeling.”

And in case you missed it, the band recently sat down with Pauly Shore for Jam in the Van: The Podcast. Check it out below.
Since they began jamming back in William’s Santa Clarita bedroom, Los Angeles indie band Together Pangea–William Keegan, Danny Bengston, and Erik Jimenez–have continually challenged themselves with each subsequent offering. Jelly Jam [2010] poured the gasoline, Living Dummy [2011] struck the match, and Badillac [2014] lit the fire with its revved-up nineties rock-inspired flames. Along the way, fan favorites like “Sick Shit,” “Badillac,” and “Offer” would rack up millions of Spotify streams, while the group received support from Consequence of Sound, Pitchfork, MTV, Stereogum, and more. Following the 2015 release of The Phage EP, produced by The Replacements’ Tommy Stinson, these working-class boys embarked on the journey to what would become 2017’s Bulls and Roosters, which evidenced their growth as a tried-and-true rock band with just the right amount of “brattiness,” as they like to say. 2021’s DYE is an amalgam of those last three albums: the inward-looking and self-pleasing experimentation of 2017’s Bulls and Roosters, the frantic and scream-y Badillac with its inspiration from emotionally raw grunge, and the 50’s pop-heavy 2011 album Living Dummy. The band spent much of 2022 on the road with headline dates across North America, the UK and Europe, along with festival sand a support tour with Jimmy Eat World.
