Shaan Chhadva is a Mumbai-born, L.A.-based producer and singer/songwriter curating his own musical universe to nurture his worldly curiosity. One may have encountered the virtuoso’s deeply resonant pieces without attaching a face to any of his many names; perhaps in the depths of a playlist, or a popular YouTube channel in the background of a study date. But he no longer has an interest in hiding, not even behind the waveform: Chhadva crafts his music with an ineffable sense of connection that pierces the spirit and lends a gentle hand. Hip-hop, psychedelic jazz, indie rock and beyond, this music requires one to open oneself and accept their place in the beyond with gratitude.A student of Knxwledge and Madlib as much as Charlie Parker and Chet Baker, Chhadva’s work indulges the sprawl of his impulses and annexes them accordingly. No matter the moniker or mode, Shaan Chhadva’s oeuvre chronicles a young artist in a longstanding relationship with his own curiosity. Whether jazzy, lo-fi, or ambient, Shaan Chhadva’s primary goal is to create as much as possible, as honestly as possible, with detachment from expectation. This attitude led him to over 250 million streams across his entire oeuvre; up until recently, he was minimally forward-facing in promoting himself. But his biggest dash of virality caused him to lean in further: clips of his first-ever performance as Ornithology at L.A.’s Hotel Cafe gained over 10 million impressions across socials and boosted Chhadva’s IG profile to nearly 100k followers. The immediate future finds Shaan Chhadva prioritizing growth and traveling the world to create, visiting Detroit, NYC, Europe, and India. He’s currently riding the high of his latest Ornithology concerts, and the project Chet Baker Reimagined (out now on Nettwerk), a set of authorized remixes of Chet Baker’s long-lost (and rediscovered) 1978 project Love for Sale – Live at The Rising Sun Celebrity Club. He recently wrapped sessions with producer Phil Ek in Washington state for a SCayos album, set for early 2026 via Nettwerk. The near-future of the Chhadva sonic universe will continue to make due on his mission to build and share a musical language that deepens our connection with ourselves, each other, and the beauty of the human experience.
