Stu Larsen Shares “Part Time Lover”; European Tour Dates With Ed Patrick & OSKA

Stu Larsen is a prolific Australian singer-songwriter with a wild streak of wanderlust and a knack for tastefully marrying narrative and melody. His first new music of 2022, “Part Time Lover,” was written in a hotel room in Berlin, then shaped and recorded with his Italian band at the legendary Fonoprint Studios in Bologna.
“I wrote my entire last album about someone who ultimately did not want to be in a relationship. Naturally, it ended. After all the highs and lows, I realized that I was on the sidelines most of the time. I wanted more while they wanted less. I promise ‘Part Time Lover’ is the last song I will write about them, and I’ll move into more interesting subject matters in the future,” says Stu.
Directed by Lenny Rothenberg, the official music video is a 12-month travel diary of Verona and #vanlife.” I spent the last twelve months with my van around Verona, and I think it’s fair to say that I have fallen in love with them both. This music video is like a little visual diary, featuring the van and the city as well as some new friends who I have been playing music with,” says Stu.

Larsen grew up in a small rural community in Queensland. Around 2010 he decided that he wanted to see the world and experience it as authentically as he could. So, he packed his bags and joined friend and fellow musician Mike Rosenberg, better known by his stage name Passenger, on tour. Stu adopted the nomadic lifestyle that would inform the entirety of his early catalog – i.e., the debut album Vagabond and follow-up LP Resolute. But, a period of personal upheaval helped inform Larsen’s third full-length outing, Marigold, which saw him dealing with the end of a relationship. He was joined by another longtime friend and fellow musician, Tim Hart (of Boy & Bear), in Sydney’s Golden Retriever Studios.
