OLD SEA BRIGADE Shares Introspective Reimagining of George Ezra’s “Budapest”
November 9, 2021 BY Nettwerk
Old Sea Brigade has shared an introspective reimagining of “Budapest” today, the 2014 breakout hit from British songwriter George Ezra. This reworking from the Atlanta-born, Nashville-based musician comes equipped with a stunning array of atmospheric synths, gripping vocal harmonies and an intricate animated video perfect for the change in seasons. It also comes as the first new music from Old Sea Brigade since the May release of his new album Motivational Speaking; which received critical praise as “some of the best quarantine art” (Consequence) and for its coupling of “relatable emotion and unshackled inspiration” (Uncut). On this version of “Budapest,” Old Sea Brigade continues down his path as “a voice of folk music’s future” (Atwood); albeit one who remains “well outside the borders of the ubiquitous singer-songwriter classification” (American Songwriter).

To celebrate the new song release, Old Sea Brigade teamed up with SPIN last night for an acoustic performance and takeover of their Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1196158532
On the heels of his new album Motivational Speaking, Old Sea Brigade has also made a return to the road; including a recent string of sold-out East Coast shows with labelmates Wild Rivers, and a homecoming date at the iconic 3rd & Lindsley with frequent collaborator Braison Cyrus. 2022 will bring even more new music for Old Sea Brigade, as well as the biggest shows of his career.
