Composer & Pianist Joe Alexander Shepherd’s newest EP out today; Listen to ‘Reflections’ Here

Today, rising UK contemporary classical composer & pianist Joe Alexander Shepherd has released his Reflections EP, a collection of five beautiful compositions, such as the striking “Into the Dark” and nostalgic-invoking piece “Reminiscence”.
“I’m excited to be releasing my second EP today,” Shepherd says. “Reflections is a set of emotional songs which resonate with me on a personal level since the pandemic hit worldwide. I’m hoping these new songs can bring some peace & tranquillity to the world.”
Writing and composing music since he was 15 years old, Shepherd mixes modern contemporary-classical with subtle touches of atmospheric melancholy. The piano has always been in the heart of his songs, adding his own unique twist with textural synths to bring the simplistic and minimalistic melodies to life.

About Joe Alexander Shepherd:
Joe Alexander Shepherd is a composer and pianist from York (UK) and a graduate from Paul McCartney’s acclaimed Academy of Music in Liverpool. Highlights of his work include the music for various advertising campaigns such as UEFA’s World War One Truce video starring footballers Sir Bobby Charlton, Wayne Rooney & Gareth Bale to name a few, Rugby Football Union (RFU), BBC1, BBC2, Land Rover and “We Rise”, a moving piece written for the viral short video Italia, by filmmaker Oliver Astrologo, and a love letter to the country that was so badly affected by the Covid19 virus.
In his recent compositions, Shepherd has delved into his own unique melancholy writing style, taking inspiration from Ludovico Einaudi, Patrick Hamilton, Dustin O’Halloran and beyond. His first EP Time, came out on Nettwerk in 2018. His latest release, Reflections EP is out November 2021.
