Festival Music House Pacific Returns To Vancouver On October 2; Performances By Dear Rouge, Frazey Ford, Ria Mae & David Vertesi

Festival Music House Pacific returns to Vancouver, bringing Canada’s top musical talent for a one-night concert on Friday October 2nd at The Imperial. Coinciding with the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF), the invite-only, intimate concert provides a platform for established and up-and-coming Canadian acts to perform for festival delegates.
This year’s performers include synth-rock, electro-dance duo Dear Rouge, critically acclaimed folk/soul artist Frazey Ford, rising hip-hop/folk artist Ria Mae and Vancouver’s multifaceted producer/songwriter David Vertesi (of Hey Ocean!).
“After the great success of last year’s inaugural Festival Music House Pacific at VIFF, we immediately started plans for this years event – the mandate being: lets throw a party during VIFF and invite the attending film and TV delegates to an intimate showcase of Canada’s top musicians,” said Ric Arboit, President and Co-Founder of Nettwerk Music Group, which helped to curate and organize the event.
“Music plays such a significant role in screen-based industries and I’m thrilled to celebrate these collaborative art forms at this must-attend event,” adds Jacqueline Dupuis, Executive Director of Vancouver International Film Festival.
The Greater Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) Society is a well-established not-for-profit cultural society that produces year-round programming at the Vancouver International Film Centre in addition to the 16-day International Film Festival and the five-day VIFF Industry Conference. The Society is a charitable not for profit arts and cultural organization, employing over 100 staff and 750 volunteers in British Columbia Its mandate is to encourage the understanding of other nations through the art of cinema, facilitate the meeting of entertainment professionals from around the world and to stimulate the motion picture industry in BC and Canada.
Originating in Toronto during Toronto International Film Festival and now in it’s sixth year, Festival Music House (FMH) is an exclusive, invite-only concert series that showcases the strength and diversity of Canadian talent for producers, directors, writers, actors and music supervisors in an intimate setting. FMH now holds a key place on the film industry circuit, expanding bi-coastal and recently presenting events in Halifax and now in Vancouver during VIFF.
Festival Music House was created in 2010 by Starmaker to provide a platform for artists to share their talents with key decision makers in the film and television industry and to highlight the talents of Canadian musicians. It now runs in several festivals across the country. The Radio Starmaker Fund was created in the fall of 2000 on the initiative of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters in consultation with the Canadian music industry and the CRTC. It is funded entirely by Canada’s private radio broadcasters and managed by a Board of Directors comprised of leaders in broadcasting and the music industry. The fund supports emerging artists with star potential from every region of Canada.
Previous Festival Music House performances have included some of Canada’s most established and most exciting emerging talent such as Gord Downie, K’NAAN, Sam Roberts Band, City & Colour, Arkells, Dan Mangan, Kathleen Edwards, Down With Webster, Monster Truck, The Sheepdogs, Diamond Rings and many more.
