Passenger’s international hit single “Let Her Go” has officially been certified Diamond (10x Platinum) by Music Canada. Nettwerkers were out in full force to celebrate with Passenger (Mike Rosenberg) last week in Vancouver where he played to a sold-out room at the Vogue Theatre.
Coinciding with the release of his latest album Runaway (August 31, 2018), the video for “Let Her Go” surpassed 2 billion views on YouTube, joining a very exclusive club which includes Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You,” Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” ft Bruno Mars, and Adele’s “Hello.”
Originally recorded in 2012, the single reached No.1 in 19 countries, with the accompanying album All The Little Lights achieving platinum or multi-platinum status in 11 countries. Passenger, aka Brighton’s Mike Rosenberg, is a streaming phenomenon who has also had well in excess of a billion streams on Spotify.
The first single from Runaway, “Hell or High Water,” steadily climbed the Triple A Top 30 Chart, peaking at #11, while the official video has over 11.5 Million YT views. After a brilliant debut performance at the Newport Folk Festival over the summer, he made his way to New York to perform the single on Live with Kelly and Ryan.
Runaway follows Passenger’s 2016 album, Young As The Morning Old As The Sea, which debuted at #4 in the Top 200 in Canada (a career milestone for the British troubadour), and a subsequent tour that saw Rosenberg play his largest headline tour to date with a total audience of over 1.4 million across 29 countries, including playing to over 13,500 people at Amsterdam’s ZiggoDome.
