Hamburg Based Singer & Multi-Instrumentalist lùisa Shares New Single “The Underground”

Hamburg based 24-year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist lùisa returns with the new single “The Underground,“ her most melodic song yet. Listen below:

“The Underground” combines lùisa’s distinctive voice with electronic mysticism, an infectious chorus all wrapped around headstrong pop melodies.
“‘The Underground’ is a song that I wrote and produced right after I’d come back from my first spring tour through Europe,” lùisa explains. “I was euphoric about the Underground world that I had lived in for several weeks: the clubs and venues, for example in Paris, Prague, Berlin and the wonderful people and audiences. It was spring, and everything seemed to grow and unfold from the underground, too. So this song which is growing and unfolding in the music itself is an homage to this underground world, but it’s also a song about flourishing hope and new beginnings and realizing you’ve been looking up searching for things, while the most meaningful things for you may only be growing from deep down.”
A polyglot, lùisa’s native tongue is German but she sings in English, and occasionally also in French and Italian. After self-releasing her debut album One Youth Ago in 2012, lùisa signed to Nettwerk Music Group (The Veils, Angus & Julia Stone, Passenger, Vök, Kill J) who released her sophomore album, Never Own, in 2015. Never Own was recorded and produced in London and released to acclaim in Europe. Since then she’s toured across the continent in Germany, France, UK, The Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Sweden, and Czech Republic, both as headliner and supporting artists such as Lucy Rose, Television, The Paper Kites, and Oh Land. Famed for her tour de force live performances, lùisa uses an arsenal of different instruments whilst performing live on stage; acoustic guitar, keyboard, digital drums, combined with loop-pedals to record beats.
Her song “Under The Wild Skies” has been used in the critically acclaimed Netflix series Orange Is The New Black.
lùisa will release her forthcoming new EP in late 2017.
