Icelandic musician Axel Flóvent teams up with Ciaran Lavery for single “Give In”, listen now

“Give In (feat. Ciaran Lavery)” is a delicate and honest piece born from the collaboration of two introverts, rising Icelandic singer-songwriter Axel Flóvent and Irish songsmith Ciaran Lavery (out now via Nettwerk Records).
Following the release of his warmly received full-length debut, You Stay By The Sea, which The Line of Best Fit called “comforting music that’ll nourish your soul,” Axel returned to the studio to record a collaborative EP that features vocalists from around the world. “Give In (feat. Ciaran Lavery)” is the first track from the collection (details TBA).
“This song is the epitome of the last couple of years, in my mind, right from the first line. It is a three-minute sigh, but one that is cathartic,” says Lavery and continues, “Axel has a f**king incredible voice, as fragile as a cobweb. So I wanted to rise to his delivery with whatever equally fragile lyrics I could muster, then see what he could make of them.” Flóvent adds, “Ciaran came with this almost already finished song to me and wanted to see if we’d like to finish it together. I did my spin on it and added some bits. There’s a certain vibe in the song that I connected to so much, and it felt like it could have come from me, but with words I wouldn’t have thought of myself, they felt so raw. I wanted us to sing it together because it’s his story at the end of the day, and of course, he sings like an angel, so it would be sad to miss that.”
