Rose Betts Debuts Pub Anthem “Doodles”+ West Coast Tour Starts Next Week

September 6, 2024 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

UK-born, LA-based, rising Celtic pop singer-songwriter Rose Betts debuts her lilting pub anthem Doodles. Rose invited us into her world earlier this year with the powerful War, the emotionally-charged Take This Body Home,” and the more recent Celtic ode Come Away. With “Doodles,” she continues to showcase her unique blend of Celtic influences and contemporary pop sensibilities.

On today’s single, Rose lists out “the doodles I’d undo,” aka 20-something nights filled with rental car accidents, stolen kisses, and unsaid truths.

“There comes a point in your 30s where you start to look back a bit more and, if you’re in a lighter mood, you can very clearly see the mistakes and laugh at them. The things that have gone wrong that you wish had gone a different way, that you can’t undo. The reality, of course, is that life is full of these things. It’s not tied into neat little bows along the way,” Rose says.

“What I love about  Irish music is that it’s always treading on the bittersweet —sorrow and joy co-exist and are often simultaneous. Even though ‘Doodles’ is a flippant, fun song, it’s also  about how drinking has two sides: you’re covering up something, maybe drowning something out, but you’re also letting something loose.”

In addition to the new single, Rose recently announced her debut U.S. tour, which will kick off this September with a solt-out show in Portland, Oregon, including stops in Los AngelesChicagoNew York, and more. See all dates here.

Rose, a celebrated figure in the London music scene, transitioned to Los Angeles during the pandemic, sparking a meteoric rise on social media with viral moments and millions of streams. In 2021, Zack Snyder enlisted her for the Flash’s theme in his ‘Director’s Cut’ of Justice League, propelling her into the DC fandom. Her debut album, White Orchids (2022) under Warner Chappell, featuring the viral hit “Driving Myself Home,” further solidified her presence with major TV placements.

Following another viral sensation with “Irish Eyes” in early 2023, Rose’s acclaim soared, attracting attention from labels worldwide. With an extensive touring history across the UK, including performances at Glastonbury and LFEST and prestigious venues like The Troubadour and Ronnie Scott’s, Rose’s sold-out headline show at The Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles marked a significant milestone. Additionally, her collaboration with Zack Snyder on one of the theme songs for ‘Rebel Moon’ underscores her burgeoning impact on both the music and film industries. Rose is now signed to Nettwerk Music Group.
