Johnny Reid Sweeps The CCMA Awards
Nettwerk One (NW1) would like to congratulate Moraine Music/NW1 artist Johnny Reid swept the 2009 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards, held last week in Vancouver, BC. Reid won in the categories:
Best Album “Dance With Me “
Song of the Year “A Woman Like You”
Video of the Year
Male Artist of the Year
Fans’ Choice Award for Entertainer of the Year
Top Selling Canadian Artist of 2009 (with Reid’s “Dance With Me” CD being certified Gold in 48 hours and platinum in 8 weeks)
Accolades for Johnny Reid have ever increased since the release of his sophomore album, Kicking Stones, which has helped him achieve two 2008 CCMA Awards for Top Selling Canadian Recording and Top Male Artist. Now, with six CCMA Awards around his third album, Dance with Me, Johnny’s stature as a bright star in Country music is undeniable.
Johnny’s two platinum albums were produced by Moraine/NW1 co-published writer/producer Brent Maher, who has had phenomenal success co-writing and producing many Nashville stars, including Kenny Rogers, Shelby Lynne, Wynonna and most noticeably all of the Judd’s records. The power and beauty of Johnny’s two albums-- Kicking Stones and Dance with Me--prove to be a testament to Johnny’s artistic gifts and Brent genius as a co-writer and producer.
NW1, Nettwerk Music Group’s publishing division, is extremely proud to be working with Moraine Music and their tremendous roster of writers and artists, including Johnny Reid, Mike Plume (who received his first CCMA nomination for Roots Artists of the Year based on the success of his first single “This Is Our Home (8.30 Newfoundland)”), Brent Maher, Jenai and Mark Selby.
