Andy Caldwell Premieres New Video For "Hold The Line"

Grammy-Nominated DJ/Producer Andy Caldwell has unveiled a music video for his latest single, “Hold The Line” featuring Lisa Shaw. The video, which premiered on USA Today, was directed by Ashley Walters and stars Game Of Thrones actress Esme Bianco (also Caldwell’s girlfriend).

Of the video, Caldwell tells USA Today, “We had this idea of going to an old motel and shooting this sort of storyboard about the song. We filmed most of it on an iPhone and then edited it on a Mac. It was pretty DIY, the whole process."

“Hold The Line” was released last month, along with two remixes. WhieNoize’s minimal approach goes deeper than the original, but with a punchier bassline. The second remix, a team effort between Hazarro and Jerome Robbins, goes the other way with bigger productions – keys, percussive elements and a straight ahead, fully-charged 4-4 beat matched to a classic House groove that’s sure to get bodies on the dance-floor. Caldwell is offering a free download of “Hold The Line” with newsletter sign-up via his website: http://www.andycaldwell.com/.

“’Hold The Line,’ featuring songstress Lisa Shaw’s buttery vocals, is Caldwell’s deep house homecoming. The song’s polished melody and full-tuned bassline are strung together for a grooving edit; equal parts danceable and hypnotic.” – Vibe.com

Caldwell, who has been churning out quality tracks for more than a decade, was nominated for a Grammy-Award ® this year in the category of “Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical” for his remix of fellow Nettwerk label artist Delerium’s “Days Turn Into Nights,” a track from the influential Canadian outfit’s last studio album, Music Box Opera. Other recent collaborations include Caldwell lending his talents to remixes and original productions with Morgan Page, Bass Kleph and Zoo Brazil as well as remixes for Paul Oakenfold, Major Lazer, Shiny Toy Guns, Beyonce and The Veronicas. He's also in the midst of concocting kinetic cuts for his forthcoming album, due out later in 2014.

The past year saw Caldwell kick off a 24-date residency at Las Vegas mega club, Light Nightclub, several club dates in Asia and North America, and a very special sunrise set at the legendary Robot Heart at Burning Man. He also produces two monthly podcast series: "Play With Andy Caldwell" and "Heritage."

A California native, Caldwell remains connected to his home state on a deep level. Growing up in Santa Cruz, establishing his professional persona in San Francisco, and now residing in Los Angeles, he’s embedded himself in every facet of the California lifestyle. Right now, L.A.’s fast-paced hot nightlife continues to inspire his current creations.
