Family Of The Year Premieres "Hero" Video With MTV; #1 At Triple A Top 30 and Set For Lollapalooza, Summerfest, Kanrocksas And More

Partnering with MTV, Family Of The Year premieres the official music video for standout song, “Hero” from their Nettwerk debut, Loma Vista.

Directed by Isaac Rentz (Tegan & Sara, Paramore, Blink-182, Cage The Elephant), the black and white video is an incomparable and fascinating story about real-life bull rider Nicolas Sartor. Growing up on a farm outside of Riverside, CA, Nick’s father owns a bull ranch that hosts weekly bull riding contests – it’s also where the video was filmed. In his late 20s, Nick is one of the top 5 bull riders in California. At the end of last year, Nick entered a competition and rode without a helmet because it was broken. Rammed in the head by the bull’s horn, Nick shattered his nasal cavity and skull and remained in a medically induced coma for several weeks. Since the accident, he continues to compete because it’s what he has been doing since the age of 6. To keep the integrity of the video, it also features Nick’s real-life daughters, friends and other young men (8-12 years old) in training.

Since they saw their Billboard radio chart debut, Family of the Year's "Hero" is #1 on the Triple A Top 30 Radio Chart! Sharing Top 5 with Mumford & Sons, Imagine Dragons and fun., the band has remained at the top of the chart for two months. “Hero” is also Top 15 at Alternative Radio and shows no signs of slowing down.

With the impressive release of last year’s album and a stellar live show, Family Of The Year continues to garner fantastic media support. Recently, the band performed “Hero” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (February 11) CONAN (February 21) and Last Call With Carson Daly (February 26 - which is their second episode in two months). Entertainment Weekly included the band in their special feature, “15 New Stars We Love” and CMT (Country Music Television, Inc.) invited the band to their studios for an exclusive taping of “Hero.” Forthcoming, MTV2 adds Family Of The Year and “Hero” to “Artist To Watch” and USA Today features the band in their emerging column, “On The Verge.”

In the past, the band has had support stints with Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Mumford & Sons, Walk The Moon, Grouplove, Good Old War, Belle Brigade, Milo Greene and others. With their first headline tour of 2013, the band sells out shows across the country, including New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Nashville, Denver, Portland and more. This summer, the band will make a run of festivals, including Lollapalooza (Chicago, IL), Summerfest (Milwaukee, WI) and Kanrocksas (Kansas City, KS) – more to announce in the coming weeks. See below for all upcoming tour dates with fun. and The Mowgli’s.

Formed in 2009, Family Of The Year is Joe Keefe (lead vocals, guitars), Sebastian Keefe (drums, vocals), James Buckey (guitars, vocals) and Christina Schroeter (keyboards, vocals).
