BOY Debuts On Heatseekers Chart At #13; NPR Music Includes Band In "Austin 100" SXSW Preview

"BOY writes and sings tuneful, friendly, forthright pop-folk songs about life and relationships...The lyrics are in idiomatic American English, cradled by melodies with a comfortable lilt and by Ms. Steiner’s sweet, unfailingly precise lead vocals….Boy brings a pastry chef’s skill to its music; there’s structure behind the sweetness." -- The New York Times (Live Review)

“This band’s about to go pop!” –

“Great pop songs are boiled-down emotion – a simple line or melody that says it all...Swiss-German duo BOY nails it with viral hit ‘Little Numbers’...simple, catchy, effective.” -- Billboard Magazine

“The duo BOY...pound out bouncy melodies and hand-clap their way through the addictive Mutual Friends.” – Cosmopolitan

“breezy, relatable indie-pop songs...” – Alternative Press

“The debut effort put forth by this Hamburg-based duo is as bubbly and rosy-cheeked as any playful kid...Attaboy!” – Filter Magazine

“I predict a mainstream takeover.” –

Hamburg-based duo BOY has finally landed Stateside. The indie pop duo released their debut album Mutual Friends last week, and today it enters the Billboard Heatseekers Chart at #13, while their infectious single “Little Numbers” is currently featured as the iTunes “Single of the Week” in the U.S. and Canada (Mexico will follow on April 2).

BOY launched their first North American tour last week with a sold-out show at NYC’s Joe’s Pub, followed by a second sold-out show at Brooklyn’s Union Hall, causing the band to add a third New York City date on March 29 at the Bowery Ballroom. The duo will play San Francisco (3/6), Los Angeles (3/8) and San Diego (3/9) before making their way down to Austin for their SXSW debut.

Chosen by NPR Music for inclusion in “The Austin 100” preview (“100 Artists Worth Discovering At SXSW”), BOY’s Austin run begins on Wednesday, March 13 with KCRW Party at the Radio Day Stage (Austin Convention Center), where they share a bill with Jake Bugg and Devendra Banhart. They’ll also appear at the Central Presbyterian Church, the 98.7/IHeartRadio party, Bust Magazine Presents, HomeSlice Pizza “Music By The Slice,” Baeble Music’s Indie Launch Pad, and The Show At Hickory Street.

In the coming days and weeks, the ladies of BOY will appear on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic, WXPN’s World Café and Sirius XM’s Spectrum and Coffee House.
