In 2012, Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg) is gearing up to release his first studio album in four years; first since 2008’s Booming Back To You. The Dutch-born, California-based producer and remixer set the tone with last year’s teaser track, “Molly’s E.” Today, Holkenborg offers up a remix of another track from the album, “Off The Dancefloor.”
Better known for their performance art (eggs, glitter, feather bombs, mud, liquid latex, spaghetti) Tokyo’s electropop band, TRIPPPLE NIPPPLES, renders it anew with their stylized tweaks. TRIPPPLE NIPPPLES put together a teaser video to accompany the remix, you can watch it above.
On a side note, Holkenborg collaborated with Hans Zimmer to remix the theme song to the The Academy Awards®. Holkenborg is the first Dutch electronic dance music producer involved in the awards.

“Admiral Fallow offers the type of music marked by chamber strings and woodwinds layered with pop structural elements…we have high hopes for their sophomore album.” – PasteMagazine.com “Top 10 International Acts To Watch For 2012”
Scottish indie-folk band Admiral Fallow will release their sophomore album and Nettwerk debut Tree Bursts In Snow on May 22, 2012. Since the release of their acclaimed 2011 debut Boots Met My Face, which the BBC called “surprising and enthralling,” the five-piece band has been on a seemingly unstoppable mission to capture the hearts and minds of listeners everywhere with beautiful melodies, sumptuous orchestration and bittersweet boy/girl vocals. With Tree Bursts In Snow, the band is ready to take the next step: from the recommended column of influential critics and into the hearts of the wider public.
Produced and mixed at Glasgow's famous Chem 19 studios by Paul Savage (Franz Ferdinand, Mogwai, TeenageFanclub), and mastered by Greg Calbi (Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, TheNational) at Sterling Sound in New York City, the 10-track album veers from rambunctious acoustica to tenderly toned introspection. “I think of an album in the same way I do a live show,” says lead singer/guitarist Louis Abbott. “It needs to have a strong balance between catchy numbers and the slow-burners.”
Angus Stone has just revealed the music video for his new track "Broken Brights," from his forthcoming solo studio album due out this summer. The video, which premered earlier today exclusively on Australia's tripple j website (here), is self-directed and was filmed in California's Redwood Forest with his partner, actress Isabel Lucas.
Angus tells tripple J:
"We planned the trip when we first met and it was here we traveled together for the first time. I thought I would bring along an old camera and capture some love along the way. With this old camera we didn't know whether it worked or not as it was film. We knew it clicked over but that was all we knew... so it was a great feeling to get the rolls back some months after and see the footage had marked our time in the woods as a love."
Stay tuned for more news on Angus Stone's solo album.
With SXSW just around the corner, Nettwerk Records is excited to share details on its label artists who will be appearing in Austin: Great Lake Swimmers, Family Of The Year and Kidstreet. Keep reading for information on each artist and their schedules.
