Starting July 21st, Family Of The Year will share the stage with Milo Greene on select dates in the US, followed by a month-long tour with Hey Ocean!. The band has already played sold-out shows in England and across Europe, including a triumphant set at France’s renowned music festival Les Vieilles Charrues, and garnered support stints with Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Mumford & Sons, Grouplove, Good Old War, Belle Brigade and more. To get a glimpse of the "live" sound, check out the above stripped down performance on Wilcox Sessions taping, filmed in Los Angeles.
The band is excited to hit the road to perform new songs and already-familiar tracks from last year’s St. Croix EP; which was heralded by NPR as “ebullient, full of stylistic left turns” and “intense and atmospheric” by Rolling Stone.
Enlisting producer Wally Gagel (Rolling Stones, Muse, New Order, Sebadoh, Rihanna, Eels, Folk Implosion), this is the first time that the band has gone outside their own camp while recording their music. “Having him work with us was really helpful, because you have to be pushed to edit yourself and be better, be stronger, work harder on things,” says lead vocalist/guitars, Joe Keefe. “Working with someone like that who knows exactly what we wanted it to sound like with the same exact vision, it was really kind of a no-brainer.”
Bottrill mixed Oceania, the first new album from Billy Corgan and company since 2007’s Zeitgeist. Oceania debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart June 19th while the first single from the album, The Celestials, is currently in the top 40 at Alternative radio and climbing.
Bottrill’s work can be heard next on the forthcoming double album from the massively successful rock band Stone Sour, on which David just completed production.

Vancouver-based, Chinese-born artist Wanting has gone Platinum in China in just one week with her debut album, Everything In The World, which Universal Music China (via a licensing deal with Nettwerk)released on July 5th. Though based in Canada, Wanting has spent the past few years building a rabid online following via Chinese YouTube, and most recently had the song “Drenched” from her debut album prominently featured in the Chinese indie-flick Love In The Buff.
Nettwerk CEO Terry McBride (who also personally manages this rising talent) comments on Wanting’s success in China: “Everything In The World is an album three years in the making. Wanting delivered an authentic and heartfelt album that I believed would not only resonate with her generation, but would also transcend language boundaries and talk to a worldwide audience. It was essential that we had the right partners in China to deliver this album properly, and we found that in Universal Music China.”
Everything In The World was released via Nettwerk Records in North America on April 24, and her unique story quickly caught the attention of the CBC flagship nightly news program The National.

Iconic frontman Peter Murphy has announced a final run of intimate live shows in support of his latest album, Ninth. The 11 dates include a stop in Hollywood, CA at The Roxy on Thursday, August 16th as part of the Sunset Strip Music Festival, as well as an east coast date in Brooklyn, NY at The Wick on Sunday, August 26th. Ours will support all dates except for the Brooklyn show.
Peter Murphy returned in 2011 with his long awaited ninth solo album, aptly titled Ninth, which the LA Times deemed “a dynamic rock record...one of the strongest of his career” and Time Out New York called “a badass new effort.” The former frontman of Bauhaus has toured extensively behind Ninth—including a major headline tour, a second co-headline tour with She Wants Revenge, and spurts of smaller, intimate gigs around the country—proving that his live show and unforgettable voice are still a force with which to be reckoned. In a recent live review, the LA Weekly commented, “Once again, Peter Murphy shames everyone else...,” while the OC Weekly called his performance “a hell of a show.”
