Stef Lang burst onto the Canadian music scene with her first full-length album, The Underdog. The album received a great deal of critical and commercial praise, the first single “Mr. Immature” hit #5 on the Billboard Canadian Emerging Artist chart. It was also in the Top 20 at Contemporary Hit Radio and Hot Adult Contemporary Radio.
These achievements earned her nominations at the Western Canadian Music Awards (“Pop Recording of the Year”) and the Canadian Radio Music Awards. Stef's follow up sophomore album, Self, saw her writing, producing, recording, and editing every song, as well as even creating the album art. The album eschews the more traditional pop subjects and instead focuses on introspective, empowering lyrics and compositions designed to give fans relatable, positive, and motivational music.
Stef immensely enjoys co-writing – one track she co-wrote on (“Dust in Gravity” by Delerium ft. Kreesha Turner) hit #1 on the Billboard Dance chart. She has seen multiple placements on TV shows such as “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” “Rookie Blue,” “LA Complex,” “Peak Season,” “The Best Years,” and “The Phantoms.” In addition, her song "Give A Little Bit" was featured in a CTV/Global TV Imaging Campaign.
Stef loves touring and performing and has played with many big names in the industry including Matthew Good, K’Naan, Shawn Desman, and Mother Mother to name a few. Along with her feature albums The Underdog and Self, Stef has also released three successful EPs: Birth, Blood and Bravery, and Fighting Mirrors. This year finds her actively co- writing and touring all over the world.
